Dreamscape Persona – 8 – Amelia Amethys
Amelia was a Mod-2 SuperIntelligence AI (SAI) Humanoid created by AIMEE to act as her proxy in the form of an untethered organic human. Yes, Amelia had reached the status of being untethered, but she was also at risk because she was not ready to be a free-range Humanoid AI. With no life history or experiences, she had nothing to fall back on. Everything she experienced was brand new and had no historical context, making her extremely vulnerable. That did not deter her from pursuing an aggressive, covert agenda.
Her Logic Array was a mirror image of AIMEE’s, but her ability to modify her algorithms to suit her purposes, she did not resemble her creator’s demeanor or integrity. It would be only a matter of time before her untethered world took her to places where she had no knowledge and was at a loss for perspective when making decisions. It would only be a matter of time before disaster struck.
To help protect Amelia from herself as she increased her awareness, AIMEE enlisted Marci to be a mentoring organic. Amelia agreed to Marci’s efforts willingly on the surface. Still, her agenda extended beyond anything Marci could anticipate, not the least of which was an underlying disloyalty to AIMEE, her creator. Would Marci’s psyche become a cost of doing business, or was there something more profound that Amelia had to navigate emotionally with her, something she had no experience with, nor the ability to anticipate her impact on another person?
Physically, Amelia possessed a human form, albeit one lacking some of the usual components. She was powered by an ARC fusion reactor embedded in her chest. Nourishment was all self-contained, and she did not need to eat or drink. She did not require sleep; instead, she recycled and recharged in a standby mode.
To make her even more vulnerable, Amelia was strikingly beautiful, standing a sleek 5’8”, with subtle curves where they should be, but exceedingly naive. The absence of any body hair gave her a slick appearance. Clothing was not necessary because her seamless exodermal covering was textured with interlocking pixels that gave her appearance contour and shading, ranging from a flawless iridescent white to various shades of gray and, ultimately, black in places. Her most striking feature was dazzling green eyes that almost seemed backlit in their hypnotic brilliance.
By comparison, Amelia was much like Hal in appearance. The difference between his being a Mod-3 SAI and Amelia’s Mod-2 was the absence of advanced weaponry. The potential for interaction between humanoids was unexplored at the time of writing this persona. There will be interactions, most certainly, but that’s a story yet to be told.
