The book, Mirror Mirror, an ancient leather-bound tome with faded gold-leaf calligraphy on the spine, caught Sandy’s attention. It looked innocent enough until the inscription on the first page gave her pause:
“Whoever possesses this book shall have exclusive control of all reflective powers that flow forth when called upon in good stead by the righteous.”
Her mind spun with unsettling questions. Exclusive control of reflective powers? Flow forth? Called upon in good stead? Who or what decides righteousness?
The antique dressing mirror she stood in front of as she read the inscription looked innocent enough, until she touched it. The whole concept of possessing the book changed as a soft male voice filled her head, confirming that the book she held in her hands possessed her.
