Sandy was overwhelmed when the dressing mirror erupted with a bolt of energy as the entity eliminated her attackers. Terror overwhelmed her, and in a fit of rage she threw the ancient tome that possessed her at the mirror, shattering it. The book ricocheted off, smashing one of the oil lamps, and a river of flaming oil spilled onto the floor. The old carpet and wall coverings burst into flames. The Hawthorne House was a tinderbox, and she was lucky to get out alive with her best friend Mel, who comforted her outside as the flames consumed the estate.
The possession she had been under was in flames along with that cursed book, Mirror Mirror; at least that was what she thought. What could survive that inferno? And good riddance to the entity that ignited her rage despite coming to her rescue and killing her attackers. Things were about to become hotter for Sandy than the flames that consumed every inch of Hawthorn House.
