Another 13-week GriefShare session begins on March 5th at the Batesville Campus of Community Church. As one of the Facilitators, I look forward to meeting courageous new folks as they embrace their individual grief journeys.

Each journey brings unique and personal grief with no instructions or reasonable expectations on how to survive loss that cannot be avoided. No timelines for boundaries. No directions on where to step away to find room to breathe. GriefShare provides some tools and insights on moving forward with learning to live with your grief because there’s no outrunning it. The heart heals, but the scars are lifelong. Remember that if there had been no love, then there would be no grief. Embrace the grief for the joy of the love it represents.

Everyone in the session will be there to find some level of relief and understanding of a new life that has changed, and as survivors, they are left with an acute sense of loss of who they were before. The impact of change when losing a loved one can be oppressive and paralyzing in isolation and hopelessness. Being in community with others to share experiences and grow stronger in their faith helps them move forward and celebrate the love that is worth embracing, even in the midst of grief.

The GriefShare Program is not a cure for grief. To my knowledge, there is no cure, and it’s not a journey to take alone. Join us!

Peace!
