A new Dreamscape 2.0 emerges, rising from the ashes of destruction at the hands of Big Pharma. 2.0 Enhancements enabled innovations of more accidental discoveries that chart new paths in their dream-capture research project. Confirming the ability to transmit one person’s dreams into someone else changed the whole direction of their research.
What if Dreamscape 2.0 could control and remanufacture transmitted dream segments for therapeutic applications?
That answer would not only be innovative, but it would also point to a potential breakthrough in treating mental health challenges like Bipolar, Depression, and Anxiety Disorders, PTSD, and others, sans pharmaceutical intervention, much to the dismay of Big Pharma.
In this second book, Beyond Dreamscape Conspiracy, Big Pharma attackers mistakenly assumed their earlier message of destruction to cease research had been delivered and taken to heart by the research team. It hadn’t.
The attacks only made them more focused and motivated to continue the research and build a new version of Dreamscape. A new team member, Zachery Taylor, a distinguished software engineer from UNC-Chapel Hill, enhanced the new version of Dreamscape with Artificial Intelligence (AI). They needed the power of AI to track extremely voluminous data patterns critical to their research that organics (humans) could no longer maintain the pace and complexity of tracking and correlation analyses.
At the same time, an unknown fear of AI integration about how safe a capability could be that self-learned from those very patterns. What would happen if AI became intelligent enough to jump into other systems? [Wait for Book #3 – Fear the Jump]
The story opens with an investigation of how deep the conspiracy ran and who was behind it. Dr. Cara Williams, the research project lead and Clinical Psychologist, uncovers a complex shell game involving big money, offshore accounts, and deep deception, which leads directly back to two Major Pharmaceutical companies. One company, Androloc, was behind the attacks in Book One. Another attack was imminent when Pharma felt it necessary to thin the herd on the research team by eliminating Russell Carter, a research assistant and former Marine Force Recon Scout Sniper.
Carter lives with PTSD from his experiences in Afghanistan. Still, his ability to protect Dr. Williams and the team remains intact, and a love interest develops despite his feelings of unworthiness due to his past killings. Dr. Cara Williams also suffers from challenges of PTSD, but from a different war, one of the memories and lingering scars of sexual abuse when she was a teenager, and has issues with giving or accepting intimacy. Russ and Cara feel the attraction, but neither is ready to embrace the risks or consequences. Circumstances repeatedly cause them to question and re-examine their demons and struggle to remain safe in separate and familiar pains rather than risk letting go.
Things changed dramatically when the second Big Pharma company, LoMedTech, offered collaboration instead of destruction. Cara had always considered the Dreamscape technology symbiotic with pharmaceutical research, so the offer was welcomed with open arms—almost. Only a few team members were convinced, and it took considerable wrangling to reach a shaky consensus, with a demand for strict guarantees before any contracts were signed.
The Big Pharma offer was sweetened with a sizable cash payment that drew attention away from Pharma’s covert plans to own the Dreamscape technology outright. Pharma’s logic was simple – owning a threat you can bury was far better than fighting against one.
How far down that path would the research team go before recognizing wolves in sheep’s clothing?

5/5 ⭐ | Beyond Dreamscape Conspiracy (Book 2 of Dreamscape Conspiracy) by Gary G. Wise
“On the heels of disaster and catastrophe to their lab and Dream Weaver research in “Dreamscape Conspiracy,” the second book in the Dreamscape Conspiracy series picks up where devastation left off.
As Dr. Cara Williams’ team works to rebuild the Dreamscape technology, Dream Weaver project, and dream mapping research, several new characters are brought into the mix, including the excitable and charming Zach Hightower. However, despite the rebuilding and excitement around Dreamscape 3.0, Cara and the team are also faced with more trained assassins as they struggle to fight the violence, and the body count continues to stack up.
This second book ramps up the action, thrills, and suspense as Big Pharma seemingly takes on a new role in the progress and development of the Dream Weaver project. Author Gary G. Wise gives readers romance, action, conspiracy, technology, and futuristic applications that electrify and inspire.
Dr. Cara Williams and Russell Carter remain pulled by their dark pasts as they desperately work to overcome the persistent obstacles they face on their way to success and healing. Giving readers characters we can root for and others we remain wary of, one can’t help but feel like a member of the team as they fight to get the project back on track in this, “Beyond Dreamscape Conspiracy.”
The exhilarating and groundbreaking research continues in this follow-up, book two of Dreamscape Conspiracy. Russ continues to be a strong and ever-present member of the group as Dr. Cara Williams becomes increasingly vulnerable and resilient to the hardships being faced. Wise pens a riveting second book.”
