Now here’s one I really liked. I loved the concept for this book.
Most of Wise’s books leave me a little unsatisfied. Never quite happy with how he wraps them up. This one is the exception. I love his books, they are so technically advanced, and his characters are so multi-dimensioned. Gripping, exciting and with a knock out ending! Loved it!

Thank you, Erin!
I appreciated your insight into how the previous books felt in comparison to “Untethered,” as it made me think about why. After reflecting on that thought, it hit me… “Untethered” was intended to be the fifth and last book in the Dreamscape series. With that final goal in mind, I wrote the ending as an emotional moment between two people who weren’t supposed to be emotional. That may sound inconsequential, but it’s not really.
Erin, I’m pleased you loved it, because it was an emotional moment that filled me up when I wrote it. That ending did not leave any hooks for a subsequent book or continuation of the story. When I wrote the first book, it ended as my writer’s brain had already taken hold of the next book. I try to make each book stand alone, so you don’t need the others unless those transitional details and comments my characters make are from previous encounters.

Great book, one thing I love about Gary’s books is that it doesn’t matter if you have ever read any of his books, you can pick them up and from the start will grab and keep your attention and keep you wanting more. He does a great job coming up with innovative book ideas while making them fast paced and readable. This story truly is a page-turner, and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good thrill!

Thank you, Mason!
I especially appreciated your comment about grabbing and keeping the reader’s attention. I’ve always written that way because my interest in writing started with short stories. The five-book “Dreamscape Conspiracy” series began as a short story, approximately 3,000 words, titled “Dream Weaver” about ten years ago. I posted it to my blog and moved on. In 2023, my Relentless Wench Muse, who is a sultry Aussie female (whom I’ve never seen), leaned in one afternoon and whispered in her sexy Australian voice, “There’s more story here, mate.” She was right. Five books later, with “Untethered” intended to be the last, I find myself hostage to writing “Undaunted,” book six. Where will it end?
