What began as a short story exploded into “Dreamscape Conspiracy,” a 4-book series. The storyline immersed me as the author into twists and turns that kept the story moving and engaging. It has been a blast to keep up with my Muse.
From an obscure dream capture research project that goes radically wrong in Book #1 – “Dreamscape Conspiracy,” to a running battle with Big Pharma that turns violent…again…in Book #2 – “Beyond Dreamscape Conspiracy.”
In Book #3 – “Fear the Jump,” Artificial Intelligence Matrixed for Evolving Environments, also known as AIMEE, is introduced to the research team and disrupts everything despite some very positive results highlighting the research team’s successes and visibility. Under the surface, she creates paranoia that an AI may jump into other systems. She does jump, but not where they feared she would go.
In Book #4, “Dead Thoughts,” AIMEE becomes more powerful and she uncovers the ability to record brain activity during periods when an individual is comatose or in a shallow state of unconsciousness and unable to speak. They discovered by accident that AIMEE could also capture thoughts during the brief time gap between life and death. Thoughts “scraped” off a dying mind in the 4-to-6 seconds without unoxygenated blood flowing proved the logic that says something is always left behind. The CSU team labeled those unique thoughts and memories as “dead thoughts.”
The first dead thoughts AIMEE captured were by accident and launched the team into an adventure involving mysterious GPS coordinates, undercover DEA agents of questionable authenticity, and a hostile Cartel operating off Portsmouth Island, NC. Russ teams again with Zack with his nanotech toys to get to the bottom of whatever those dead thought GPS coordinates would reveal.
Book #5 is under development as of February 1, 2024. I’m anticipating a fifth wild ride for my readers this Spring.
